Ooh good share! 8211 and 8212 operated on my layout's locale, but a little later than my modeling era. These are unique locos for sure - I am tempted to preorder Frank
Of course I have a CR U25C, so......
Well to complete the mess, you will need the SD35 that had previously worn the number of the C39-8 you get.
Conrail Can Opener 1990s era and Can Opener with Ditch lights... but no frame stripe?Thats... odd.. I got one from the first run.. and once I got it.. regret that I didn't get 2 cause they look so great.. The SD40-2s will make up for that. If these were white stripe, I'd grab one.. but otherwise I'll just hold out for the 40-2
I have the first run of the PA NE locos. Best sound locos I have, and has made me a convert to Scale Trains Locos whenever I can use them. Those two numbers are the same as the first run. I don't know enough about the prototype, as I just use them as patch job second hand units of generic heritage on my layout. So, maybe there were only those two and they are re-running them. I doubt it is because of popularity. I visited Neal's N Guaging Trains at a show when they came out and even after I asked for them, said, "Who would buy those? I didn't order any." But, that is just anecdotal. Maybe Neal just misjudged the market. But, being the same numbers raises the possibility that they were the last two on the original ad, and whoever made the new one just left them on by mistake.
The PNE only has two, so it makes sense they only did the two numbers.
Interesting, Railroad Picture Archives shows three units: 8202, 8211, and 8212. Are they down to just the 2 now? 8202 and 8212 are/were both in CR paint with black patches at one point. Looks like the last photo of 8202 was in 2012, so it may be gone now?? Last update on the Diesel Shop roster was 2019 and it still listed 8202, so who knows.... http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoList.aspx?id=PNRR&mid=30https://www.thedieselshop.us/PNRR.HTML
Oh damn, yeah, I forgot there was a third!
