Although they have not yet been listed on the Hiawatha, Lombard, or MBK sites, as is often the case with short-run Trainworx semi tractors, trailers, and semi sets, ranging in Buy-it-Now price from $150 - $200 per set, these models began appearing on eBay earlier today.

MBK and Lombard had them posted earlier in the week. They dint last long.
I got mine from Nscale supply and they are nice. Looking for the undec trailer to hopefully show up like the modern tank trailers.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

it's a shame that enough of these models are not made to at least allow them to be available at the retailers for a few days.  I check every day, and still missed them.

Are there future "Legends of the Road" truck announcements?

For things like this that are short runs and sell out quickly, I'd like to pre-order through Lombard Hobbies or similar shop that has a history of consistent fulfillment.

Best price I seen was $48.84 from Midwest Model Railroad, now showing out of stock.

Exactly. This seems to bee the standard method of operating for Trainworx. I love their models, and I understand limited-runs, but the artificially created scarcity seems not to support the modeling community.  Collectors - maybe, but what about the average modeler who does want to spend $50 for a tiny N scale model truck, yet they evaporate in couple of days after being shipped to the dealers, then the scalpers show up in with outrageous prices. And since every Trainworx truck run in the past was an instant sellout, they are well aware that they have large and eager market to satisfy.

Yes, I hear the excuse:  They only get as many as the Chinese producer makes. It sucks!  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Given that the majority of Chinese manufacturers require large production runs that some American importers are unable or unwilling to commit to, this excuse is lame.

With very reasonable shipping costs, like you, I found them on eBay at MSRP (which given their current availability, is quite reasonable in my humble opinion).

I believe most of Trainworx decorated trucks/trailers are intended for the collectors, so if you don't preorder them, you don't get them.

Probably good for profits, but not so good for modelers.

And, yes, that trailer would be a very nice addition to the undecorated line.  Similar hopper trailers are everywhere in grain country, and not uncommon here in eastern Kentucky, at least on the major highways.
