Does the UP still go to Salida, or did that end when they closed Tennessee Pass?
AFAIK, UP hasn't used the tracks beyond Canyon City in over 20 years. Right now the line is in a court battle over potential new ownership.
There is one stretch of track from Canyon City to Parkdale leased by
Rock and Rail. They have a
quarry loop in Parkdale and then connect with the UP in Canyon City. We get a train almost once a day during the week that unloads south of Colorado Springs.
