N scale Vehicle list?

Does anyone know of any kind of comprehensive list of N scale North American vehicles (cars and trucks).

@spookshow does not have one  (wink.... wink...)

But I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever compiled such a list.

What started this is contemplating vehicles for the Chaffee Branch 1950.   I'll need vehicles from about 1920s to 1950.

The N Scale Vehicle Association maintains a couple of vehicle lists that are in their Group.io discussion group file section.  https://groups.io/g/NScaleVehicleAssociation/files/Convention%20Handouts

I think you need to be a member to access them online.  However, I can email them to you if you want them.

The lists are limited to "mass produced" N scale vehicle models suitable for North American layouts, so they do not include most of the 3D printed vehicle models.  One list has cars and light trucks (including vans and SUVs) and the other list has medium and heavy duty trucks.

@Rasputen  has quite a few vehicles in those years if you don't mind painting them.  I've worked with a couple of Hudsons from him ('50 and '38) and they come out really nice.

That depends.  If you include Shapeways manufacturers, then the designer madaboutcars alone can add hundreds to the list.


Speaking of Shapeways, I've been keeping track of N scale products that interest me and vehicles are the bulk of that.  I have one list that is public that you may be interested in viewing, titled "1930-1959 Vehicles".  It needs to be cleaned up a bit, but I've dumped everything that fits into that category onto the list as I have come across it on Shapeways.I have one titled "1920-1929 Vehicles", but it only has three in it.


I also have one for "1960-1969 Vehicles" and "1970-1979 Vehicles".  The latter isn't that comprehensive, since my modeling interests stop at 1977.


I don't know how to pull up publicly available lists, but they're there if you can find them.  Shapeways doesn't offer a link to them.

Let me second that.  Especially for vehicles from the late 30s through 1950.  And, luckily for me, well into the mid 50s.  You need to do some work, but where else do you find everything from Kaisers, Hudsons and Studebakers, to more common GM cars and any number of trucks and buses.  And my all time favorite Rasputen product- the American LaFrance model 700 fire trucks.

Thanks for the plug, but those are just the "ready to use" vehicle models.  I have all of the GHQ 1930s and 1940s era truck and automobile kits still to build, which will add considerable to the 1940-49 era, and allow the posting photos of vehicles in the 1930-39 era.  Too much to do and not enough time to get it done.
