Wiking is once again offering a 3-pack of vintage VW Beetles.  https://www.wiking.de/en/shop/drei-vw-kaefer.html

The Wiking VW models best represent the Beetles imported into the U.S. for the 1967-77 model years.

Also announced is another release of the Lanz Bulldog farm tractor.  https://www.wiking.de/en/shop/lanz-bulldog-mit-dach-laubgruen.html

This iteration of the Bulldog was produced from 1936-54.

Sounds nice, but they will probably have those "new" heavily tinted windows.  It is really too bad that these models have nice thin shells well suited to see-through "glass", but with the tinted window insert they look like shells are solid, with painted windows.  IMO, I big step backwards. I even contacted Wiking when they first started doing this, but they did not want to go  back to the see-through windows.

How about the squareback, notchback, and fastback?  How about a 3-pack of them apples?

If I find three beetles on my layout, it's time for some pest control!   :P

Bryan,

Are you wanting a 3-pack with one each of the squareback, notchback, and fastback?  If so, only Lemke offers the squareback, notchback and fastback in N scale (Wiking only has the squareback).

However, Lemke has offered "themed multi-packs" for some of their N scale VW Transporter models with mixed body styles, as well as 2-packs of either VW T2 or VW T3 Transporters.  So, maybe with a little encouragement they could be persuaded to offer a 3-pack of their squareback, notchback, and fastback models.   8)

Richie,

Marks made Bugs that covered the prototypes imported into the U.S. from 1949-57, and IMU had a 1949-53 split rear window bug.  Unfortunately, finding one of these now might be difficult because it has been a while since the last production run from either company.  If you really go back in time, the Arnold Rapido Bug produced in the late 1960s represented the 1958-64 model years, but had some issues with the width compared to the length and height of the model.  The photo below is one of the Revell Rapido examples from the same tooling that was used for the Arnold Rapido Bugs.

Back to the Wiking models, I think they might be offering this 3-pack for those that want to fill autoracks.  I know someone on one of the forums I follow was asking for some for that purpose, but I cannot remember who it was, or where it was posted.   :?
