Interesting way to load gondolas

I came across this photo somewhere, can’t remember what site, but thought it would be a neat way to add a destination for gondolas that is a bit different than the usual scrapyard or coal dealers.  I remember that the company was a gasket manufacturer, so I am assuming that they are parking it there to collect metal scraps.  Also interesting are the 2 chutes that are retracted, I wonder what that’s all about?
 
Even if you don’t want to load gons, it would be a interesting detail to add in the up position, to leave clearance for boxcars.  I’m thinking it would be a nice scene to have a weathered, half loaded gon parked underneath something like this at the end of a spur. You could get fancy and make it operational, as well.

That's what I initially thought but the building has two more permanent looking chutes in the retracted position and a container trailer of some sort in the open bay to the right which may have an open top.
I wonder if it's not some kind of recycling business?

The tower in the background seems to have some sort of a logo on it. Looks like V-O.

The breweries in Milwaukee used similar arrangements to dispose of broken bottles (cullet). They shipped in hoppers or gons.

Cool!  So it is VG, no VO.  It is clearly visible in the high-res photo. Also visible is "CTOR" on the other side of the tower.

Would the shutes be used for discarding rubber or cork scraps (by the carload)?

I some believe metal stamping plants have similar setups for bailed up scrap.

I'm pretty sure Budd's Hunting Park plant had a chute just for loose scrap. Will have to check the ZTS map.

Look beyond the gon and you can see the same track continues around a curve further down, where another car is parked. The chutes don't have clearance for a switch engine to pass if they were fixed. The large chute on the end of the gondola also clearly has support wires/ropes connected to it to raise it when not in use so an engine can move past it.
