Was the first "post war" black release also deskirted or would these be new?

I don't think there's been a 'post war' black release.  I also don't think there's been a deskirted release.

Well now I'm home from work I guess I can answer my own question.

Wartime black "lines" were released in 2009:

So I guess a de-skirted, post-war release should look like:

"Post War" Black deskirted two road numbers 4433 and 4445

I don't see anywhere it says deskirted, unless you have more information.

A confirming source would be nice!

PWRS sent it out last night in an email.

Where does it say 'deskirted"?

It doesn't say de-skirted, but the lettering is right, and one could do the de-skirting/detailing one's self followed by some brush paint touchup.  I think one of the N-scale magazines had an article on doing this several years ago.

I'll buy one, as the one I currently have is the Con-Cor version from over a decade ago.

Misprint in the info I got.

definitely not deskirted.

Random fun fact...these were originally announced in 2009 as the economy cratered and were cancelled due to extremely low pre-orders.  The 'Southern Pacific Lines' black units had slightly less abysmal preorders so those were made...which then subsequently took quite a while to sell out.

Now the irony is the Southern Pacific Lines ones are extremely hard to find and go for a premium when they pop up.

Ah good times!

Kelley.

Con Cor made the only de-skirted SP 4-8-4 locomotives. They also did Western Pacific with the correct single headlight, but not the later added elephant ears smoke deflectors. They also did many horrible foobs' with coal tender versions of the GS tender. UP with smoke deflectors and a UP loco number, PRR with a a Pennsylvania Keystone smokebox front, Rio Grande,  which didn't look too bad in black with white striping and NP. All the foob  locomotives used the de-skirted boiler. They were trying to unload them for years. I tried to order a Rio Grande and an oil tender which were listed in Con Cor Parts Department to repaint and make into either another WP or SP locomotive , but they were finally out of them. These locomotives, both correct and foob ones are fairly easy to convert to DCC. I forget the decoder number but it is Digital Quacks. Nate Goodman (Nato).
