Atlas Coil Cars

Hey all,
I recently got one of the Atlas coil cars and there are two plastic rectangles included that I can’t figure out where they go. Can anybody clue me in? Thanks!

If memory serves me correctly they are the dividers between the steel coils.
If you run your cars without the lids.

Printing paper instructions and packing them in the jewel box costs money. Do you want to pay more for your model!?  Plus if you buy a model of, Atlas expects you to know what the 1:1 car looks like, so you can assemble the model properly without instructions!

I just wish they spent money on new tooling for the coil shields. The Walthers ones were far too tall and they lacked the hand grabs that were so visible along the side of them. Especially since they are more expensive than the last RC release (I know those are fairly old now, but still).

Seriously, if cost was a factor, Atlas could have some instructions on their website...

That reminded me of those Micro-Trains (non-operating) EOTs they manufactured a few years ago, which came with NO instructions whatsoever. I bought a package of them and was stumped at how to install them on a coupler. It took a Facebook Message to MTL's FB account to finally get my answer: Basically, I just had to glue them to the side of a coupler.

Same here- took me forever to figure out those MT EOT devices. Ended up making my own from styrene bits.

Granted, the coil car is not listed, but it does appear they are still working on getting diagrams for everything into their online diagram library, and for things not there yet, there is a phone number
