Video — Using varnish for modeling ditch water

doesn't varnish take quite a long time to dry completely, even if just using it for 1/16 inch thickness ??? and doesn't varnish [not polyurethane]  dry with a bit of a yellow tinge ??

I’ve used polyurethane varnish with good results in small still water features like drainage ditches. In many locales, tannin in the water gives a yellowish/brownish tint to the water. In any case, if you’re modeling anything other than clear mountain streams, this method might be something to consider.

If you’re looking to build up a thick “water” layer, I’d use a different method.
