Would love to see an update!

It looks exactly the same today as it did back on 6 August, when I last worked on it. I had it out for Ed to see when he visited on 18 August, after which it went right into storage. With work on the house, I've had zero time for modeling, I'm afraid.

I'd rather see the house done first.

Are you referring to his 1:1 scale modeling project?

Yes.  Cold + house = warm

Scatterbrained old fart that I've become, I've gone back to work on this layout. Retro layouts, as fun as they are, don't sustain my interest as much, and I needed to scratch the itch to do a little more "proper" modeling, such as it is.

Having been many months since I last touched this layout, I was (not surprisingly) inspired to make some changes. Most of them I made to reduce the number of models I needed to build, and compress the construction timeline. But, I also wanted to do away with the layout having a "front" and "back"--the last couple of layouts I've worked on could be viewed from any angle, and I've come to prefer that style. This meant eliminating the building flats across what was the back of the PCSB. I also shuffled a few buildings around to give the layout a slightly lower profile overall.

After pulling it out of storage and posing structures in their new locations, this is how things looked:

And here's the plan showing how things are (re)arranged:

1. Stockton Freight Depot
2. Stephen A. Greene Metal Fabrication
3. Water Tower
4. Coal Trestle
5. Stockton Station
6. Stock Tower — finished
7. Spano's Service Station — finished
8. Weller Fuel Oil
9. Corner Buildings — finished
10. Tenements
