Borrowed Silverton Railroad #100 (the Ouray) heads a northbound freight to Eureka, Colorado on the 3-foot-gauge Silverton Northern. Below the ledge flows el Rio de las Animas Perdidas (River of Lost Souls), the full name of what's now just known as the Animas River. It's 1908 and the Ouray just received its knuckle couplers a bit late. A steam generator and electric retrofit kit for the old box headlight rounds out her upgrades, but otherwise she looks very similar to when Otto Mears himself purchased her from the D&RG for his very first railroad enterprise.

So what flavor of PowerAide best describes the color of the Animas in this era?

River of lost Souls. Love the name, so much better than a Presidents name or something like that.
