Alaska RR RDC3 Rotary Plow

Another unit built while I was on pain-killers (why else??).  I took a KATO RDC, cab from a E8, and rotary from a Tichy Plow kit.  As I had to disassemble to RDC to add DCC, I went a little crazy on the shell (placing the three section DCC is a real pain). I spliced the E8 cab to the RDC, then connected the rotary to one end. Placed large spark arrestors on roof for the heck-of-it(afterwards, I wished I hadn't). Model painted for early 60s Alaska RR.  Always looks good running on club layout with old power pushing.

Nice kitbash.  A real Frankenstein.  But, I hope that the Alaska RR shop put some weight into that former RDC (and maybe even stiffened the frame), because, at the first hit on a snow drift, it's probably going to pop off the rails.  ;)
