Sorry to hear this. I loved the name of the railroad and layout. Maybe think about modeling in small modules? Not endorsing any particular one, but there are several that range from small to really small that you could keep in a closet or under a bed.
I had a similar problem in the past...found it was just easier to get rid of the wife... 
It's sad when the spouse is unwilling to support their significant others interests or hobbies...
I'm sure that this will only be a momentary setback and you will be back building soon.
