Bachmann Western Pacific 2-8-0

:|I now have back my Bachmann Western Pacific 2-8-0 which Bob Gilmore had taken to disassemble and put back together as the factory had put it together badly, so the pilot touched the rails. It was pretty easy to take apart and put back together, but Bob and I both got busy with other projects and I did not get it back until a week a go. It now runs fine on my DC layout, but will be operated in DCC on the Wasatch N Scale Layout http://www.wasatchnscale.org .The outside braced caboose was a project started by Kent Hunt in the late 1980's and finished up by myself.

Nate wants me to 'splain about taking the engine apart and fixing the problem.  The problem was that the body casting wasn't fully back on the frame far enough, and when the pilot steps, which are attached with a screw to the front of the frame were mounted in their respective holes on the boiler, it would bend the pilot downward enough to make it rub the railheads.  I initially thought it would be complicated, but when I looked closely at the model, I noticed that on the bottom of the boiler, the metal innards were protruding just enough to keep the body from sliding back.  I simply squeezed the boiler casting downwards and with a "click" it slid over the protrusion and also slid backwards to its correct position.  I then re-mounted the pilot steps into their mounting holes on the boiler sides and VOILA!!...all was well!  Thankfully a simple solution!  :)  (Bob Gilmore)

Al I see it the typical thing when a Google images are not shown:  A gray circle with a white line in it (I call it a "do not enter" sign since it looks like a gray version of the red European "do not enter" traffic sign).  It likely means that I do not have permission to view the image (hence, "do not enter").

Don't even get that- just a bit of gray space equal to a short paragraph between heads.
With all blockers Little Snitch and Ghostery off still nothing appears- Nate?

Yup, I took the photos and the photo location is at my googlephotos account, uploaded automatically from my Google Pixel 2 XL phone which gives me unlimited storage there for two years.  However I loaded them to TRW while signed on in Nate's account, so I can't fix the problem here at home, but let me see if I can re-load them from here in this comment....Give me a few minutes.

I hope that solved the problem!

I really like these little Bachmann engines...just wish they were closer to the Harriman version used by the U.P. and S.P.  :)

I apologize for the delay in catching this problem, but...I've been busy getting my new computer build up and running with Win10 Pro...so I haven't checked TRW for a couple of days.

Cheerio!

Interesting.  When I loaded them to Nate's comment, I hadn't put them into a folder yet.  I made a comment to Nate about that, but they showed up when we previewed his comment, so I didn't think there would be a problem.  When I posted them in my comment, I also put them into a folder in my googlephotos account, so it could be that photos kept at googlephotos need to be in a folder before they show up here.

Anyway, it took care of the problem I am happy to see!

Peter...GO TO BED!  :)
