Athearn is doing the 89' flats this time with a trailer included one of those is a Conrail trailvan trailer, heen waiting for some of these trailers.

It is vey nice to see Conrail Trailvans finally being done on the 40’ Freuhauf trailers.  Conrail did own several thousand of these after all.  I suggested these to Athearn  back at last year’s NSE Convention, and they said they would consider it.  When they announced a new run of just the trailers a few months back and Conrail did not make the cut,  I was disappointed.  It looks like all the information I sent them has finally paid off.  Thanks.

Athearn announced a new run of the trailers in February, and Conrail was not included.  This is a rather expense way to get a few, but there is no other option at this point.  I do plan on rolling a few of my own however.  They are creeping up the decal list in my work bench.  I have to finish my 86’ autoparts cars and some X65’s first.   Since modeling season ends with the school year, maybe next winter.  Thanks.

A 2 pack of trailers would have suited me just fine as well. Guess I'll be getting some more flats and a couple right proper 40' CR vans for my intermodal trains. I can retire those ConCor ones I attempted to pretty up with a little paint and better landing gear and tandems. They pass the 3 foot rule. barely. Maybe I should save them for show use.   I'm a bit pleased there is only one trailer per flat though.  That will help me out with my "I've more trailers than flat's and I keep buying/decaling more" situation.  I doubt I'll ever have the space for a layout large enough to build another intermodal yard again.  I did find an old set of Trailvan decals (Walthers?) at a show last year.  Haven't gotten around to that project yet.  Looks like it just got pushed back further.

The Conrail trailer is great, these went all across the country.   

I sure would rather see them in a trailer 2-pack like they used to do.
