Andrews trucks in the 70s

Looking at pictures of GN cars in the early BN era, I keep finding more with Andrews trucks.  Were these ever formally banned from interchange?

I know they wouldn't be legal in interchange today, because both friction bearings and roller bearing adapters have been banned.  But were Andrews trucks banned, the way archbar were?

Not banned, but restricted, mandating special handling. In looking around the web I found 1954, 1957 and 1958 for the alleged cutoff, plus comments that a couple of roads (CStPM&O and ACY were mentioned) unwittingly had a handful running around in interchange into the '60s.

The GN had hundreds of cars with them, apparently in interchange service, into the BN era.  Most of their 2-bay hoppers had them, as well as at least one series of 50 ft flatcar.   They also had at least one series of log car with them, but I doubt those were interchanged with anyone.

The 1977 AAR Interchange Rules book has repair rules for "separable journal box" trucks, so they were still allowed in interchange then, and lists permissible replacement journal boxes.
