Hello,
I'm wondering who, here on this forum, is planning on attending the National Train Show/NMRA convention this summer (August) in Orlando, FL...
and, does anyone have any information on which manufacturers will be attending the show.

I'm going, however, we've tied this into a family vacation to Disney. Since the Orlando group hasn't done squat in getting any kind of schedule (or info for that matter) out and you need to reserve certain things at Disney 180 days out, I'm probably only doing the LDSIG layout tour on Wednesday, the train show, and maybe swing by some stuff in the evenings if able to with our Disney schedule,

As a Disney fan, I was excited to see the convention on Orlando.  I was not excited to see it there in August.  It's usually unbearably hot and humid, and crowds are Disney are terrible then.

I'll wait til it's back in the area.

If I'm in Florida in August it will be for the American Fisheries Society meeting in Tampa. Better food, better beaches, less crowds.

I was NOT excited to see the convention and show in Orlando at all...(I lived 4 miles from Disneyland when in Southern CA as a teenager), and Denise and I are Waaaaaay beyond massive crowds of tourist types in bermuda shorts and black socks...We live on the Alabama Gulf Coast, in the Gulf Shores-Orange Beach-Pensacola area
Regardless, we're going because we were asked to participate with an N scale manufacturer at the show, plus there is going to be a T-TRAK layout there as well.
However, I certainly get the draw of Orlando to those with young families, and it makes good marketing sense to have the show in a major tourist area that can cater to those family members who may not be very interested in the model train aspect. Something for everyone.
I prefer cities/venues with a large railroad influence, as Kansas City will be in 2018...
Are there any manufacturers, here on the forum, who have committed to a booth at the Orlando show?

The NMRA National Train Show in Orlando, FL is only a few weeks away. August 4-6, 2017 at Orange County Convention Center and there will be a large T-TRAK layout right down at show center! We're still accepting modules for those who would love to participate. Even more exciting, this layout is being sponsored by a number of N scale manufacturers who have donated some INCREDIBLE prizes as contest awards for participating modules! Sponsors include Kato, Blair Line, Showcase Miniatures, Woodland (formerly Woodland Scenics), T-Kits, and Trovestar! If you would like to participate with a module or modules, contact Fay Chin at nttrak@gmail.com.

crowds of tourist types in bermuda shorts and black socks

So... typical model railroading fashion?
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Mugs, plaques, awards ribbons and awards certificates are ready to pack for Orlando!
Each participant in the T-TRAK layout will receive a commemorative mug and plaque (so will sponsors/contributors), winners of the various contests will receive ribbons, certificates, and some INCREDIBLE prizes from the sponsors!!!
(not shown here are the ribbons for Kato-1st-2nd-3rd, T-Kits, Woodland, and Trovestar)
