I have never heard of other mammalian forms, like beef or lamb bacon? My wife wouldn't have a problem with either of the latter.

There is a beef bacon, but heard it was awful.  Saw it at the butcher counter at a grocery store back when I lived in Spokane WA.

Beef bacon is actually very Good  , served crispy. And Veal bacon is often found in the Mideast
