A day late and a dollar short but that's how I roll.  Another Friday off work, another 10am run to Mainline Hobby and another catch of CSX and MMID at Highfield at the same time.  I wasn't sure if there was going to be room for everybody as I believe CSX had already dropped 15 cars in the usual MMID interchange siding, and hauled their train up into the MMID "yard".   When he stopped, the engines were stopped pass the old Western Maryland station which now serves as the local library.  I figured MMID had already dropped their train and had backed down to allow CSX to pulled past station to reverse back into their territory so I traveled south along their lines only to find them charging up the mountain in notch 8 with a healthy train of their own.  I shot video of them and raced back to the top of the mountain to find that CSX had made quick work of their drop and had already made their reverse move to clear the line.

After I arrived home, I was eating lunch and heard D795 blowing the crossings near my home in Gettysburg, so I finished up my meal and headed out to the railroad cut west of town.  It was cold and windy, and after 45 minutes, the train left town after picking up 9 cars from Gettysburg and Northern interchange.

On the MMID train, it's loaded cement from Lehigh Cement in Union Bridge, MD.  On the end of the CSX train, it's empties.  On the third video, head end 2-bay are headed for Granual Specialties to be loaded with roofing shingle grit at Greenstone.

Really nice Adam!! What's a Friday off?

Nosing around my new hometown of DuBois, I discovered a railroad tunnel about 5 miles northeast of town. This is on the line to Driftwood and is apparently used a few times a week.

On the west end of town is this old tower - BR&P heritage perhaps?  (Still need to learn the local RR geography and ancestry.)  The line coming towards the camera goes north to Brockway and beyond.

A few days later I took a lousy cell pone grab shot of two B&P engines heading into a siding.

And last but not least, the latest PCC car to be refurbished arrived at Brookville .

The moving van arrives Thursday, so there won't be too many free weekends for awhile...

No more for quite awhile, but I think I nailed down the time to be in Highfield.  Two weeks in a row I was up there around 10am, and caught MMID UBHF and CSX D702.
