... put our car keys into a brandy snifter to see who goes home with whom... :P

Your reference to this '60s/'70s folklore, other than revealing your age, made me search for "keys in a brandy snifter". Nothing, other than a million sites trying to sell you brandy snifters. This and other similar omissions are increasingly convincing me there is an online cultural history gap from ~1960 to 1990 or so. No wonder the Millennials look at us strange when we say things like this.

Otto, it might be the camera but it looks like the A unit cab end isn't sitting down as low as the other end. I know you're in socal with all the low riders on hydros but that e unit isn't a64 impala!

It's probably because most people old enough to have lived through the 60-90s can't remember them. :D
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

Well, isn't' it a general knowledge that model RR is a dying hobby because all the old-fart model railroaders are dying off? Even if they are still alive and happen to remember (which means they didn't party hard enough)  that type of folklore, they are probably computer illiterate, so this type of folklore is not documented online.   :D

Otto those locos look sweet indeed. Not sure what you could use on the front of the E6, maybe M/T has a replacement in their listing of couplers that might suit.
Or you could see if a Kato front coupler from an SD40-2 would fit?

Then try searching the 1997 movie The Ice Storm

So let me get this straight... Ben got your layout that used to be Ed's layout, and your new layout was Tim's old layout...Meanwhile parts of my layout are now parts of Eric's and Ed's layout, and Dave's old layout is now Brian's layout.

I'm beginning to think that next time I come to an ops session we're all just going to put our car keys into a brandy snifter to see who goes home with whom... :P

Lee

and 84 lumber is on my layout, along with your old WM stone train :)

Finally getting some time to work on BNSF 2229 again.

Mike

I have FINALLY gotten to work on her again. I need to do touch-up things but for the most part it is almost done.
Hope you enjoy it.
Mike
