You guys are just plain spoiled, when I started in N-scale in 1970 you were lucky to get any thing in the road names that you modeled. I purchased many Minitrix U28Cs and your choice was SF, SF, or SF. No one made models in different road numbers until many years later. I guess they were all Toy manufactures back then!
For the record, it appears my K4 has suffered the same malady the Rich_S had. Will get it back to the factory today. I wasn't running it at the time, but the engineer who was, reported that is seemed to be runnng rough immediately beforehand and finally stopped on straight plain ordinary track. I had been running it a fair amount over the past week and it seemed to be running better than ever.Bill Kepner
Someone should model the 1970s N Scale as their prototype. Repaint today's engines in those old horrid looking colors, replace the MT couplers with Rapidos, put it old pizza cutter wheels, on, and use brass track and run lots of boxcars with thick roof walks. ADD the MP Jack Work oal mine, an Atlas station and machine shop building and turnouts with motors above the able top.
The Railwire is not your personal army.
