Pete responded to me:

Haven’t heard anything … am not aware of price changes.  Do not know if they will reduce prices to dealers … or are just trying to sell direct and cut dealers out.

I hope they aren't trying to do an end around dealers.

If the ad SRP of $99.95 is the new price and the existing BLW discount is applied to that, it puts these engines in the mid $70 range. Kind of where a lot of engines (like older FVM GEVOs) are at places like Lombard Hobbies.

Which makes it very inexpensive when compared to current Atlas and some Kato's runs. Especially when you factor in the newness of Arnold and a more limited nature of road names for the U28C, say as compared to the SW1.  If they don't handle this right with dealers I think it will really hurt them, unless they don't plan on continuing with Nscale.

There are SW-1s on the 'bay for 80.74$ plus 5$ shipping...

My 2 SW-1s are great little locos, and run really well....I thought they were a good deal at 100$!...Maybe I can pick up a couple more at this lower price..

BLW is showing an MSRP that is higher than the $99.95 in the magazine ad. Still an improvement.
