Sprucing up the forum's emojis
« on: March 25, 2016, 02:41:23 AM »
Dr. Hot Balls got me thinking after he used this gem in a post.

Since the communications on the forum is without a direct interaction, when we post messages most of us use emojis to assist in conveying our emotions.  I find the forums set of emijis lacking.  While there are few interesting ones like   :ashat:  :RUEffinKiddingMe:   and of course  :tommann: , the rest are boring. Is there a way the admins could add few more useful ones to the set?

Here are some I would like to see here (from the old A-board):

Some of the A-board emojis look itentical to the ones used here - I suspect that these are standard GIF files used by many forums.   Having those extra emojis would make things even more fun than they already are.

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I don't know, emojis seem to cause their own unique set of problems.

These two at least seem to be good additions. In particular, the head banging against the wall can be quite useful, and expresses a different sentiment than any of the existing emojis.

Really?!  You just can't win.  Everything causes problems. :|  Usually it is the lack of emoji use which causes problems by not fully conveying the intention of the post. Especially if  :)  ;) and  aren't used to make the meaning of the message perfectly clear.

I guess I can always just host my own set on Photobucket and use them myself, but it would be nice to just be able to just get them into the post while I'm composing it, using just couple of mouse clicks in the compose window.

I'd uprate this comment if I could.  :D

If TRW adds any emojis, the "beating a dead horse" should be first. Would be very useful by the second page of most product announcements.
