Close enough for me may not be close enough for others...but Atlas products have an excellent performance record on my layout and I do like the detail on this body style (I have an older release, different scheme).  I don't recall ever seeing the Intermountain one in person.  It may be correct and as good detail-wise.  Can't say.  But for the Juniata Division, this meets my standard.

If you're asking me I don't know.  I think @Kisatchie is our resident Intermountain refrigerator car guru.

I'm appallingly ignorant about prototype schemes. I just have a LOT of Intermountain 40' reefers that I built from kits, that's all.

Hmm... I offered Kiz a
buck each, but he
wouldn't bite...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Are they going to do a 30% price jump on the Tops Gons like they did on the Dry-Flows?

Looks like they went up $3.  So unless they went from $10 to $13, then no.

Dry-Flos went up 22% which still a lot between runs, but certainly not as bad as 30%.

Yes, I recall jbritton talking about this car. I tried to go back to the a-board, but the search function wasn't working for me. I recall him saying the IM car was the correct version, but looking at the proto picture (if correct) it seems like a match to the Atlas car to me. I see the IM version doesn't have the hardware painted black, but don't know if there are other differences.

The IM cars are a good match for the 11350-13057 series, as well as several WFGX and BREX.

The Atlas car's biggest issue is that it is missing a grab iron on each side, and it has the corner bracing; this was lacking on all but a small set of truss-rod cars.  Also, the cars wearing this scheme would likely have been rebuilt with steel Hutchins roofs.

If you can overlook these issues, the Atlas car will work as a reasonable standin for several series of FGEX cars.  They're close enough for me to get a few for tater trains.

Regarding the Atlas FGE wood reefers, this is a reissue.  The scheme previously was released in early 2004 (two numbers) and summer 2006 (two numbers).

Regarding the IMRC wood reefer, it is an FGE prototype.  IMRC also has released a number of FGE schemes on the model that cover various eras.

Missed both of those issues...  Wasn't thinking reefer blocks in those days!

Thanks, that's good info. I thought this was a new release,  I missed the part that said reissue.  I had to go and look, but I have some of the IM and the older Atlas cars, and as has been said they did run in blocks, so I'll be getting a couple more, even if not entirely correct.
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
