Atlas 89ft flats

Anyone know the story behind the new trailer train flats Atlas just announced?

Atlas says its "Pennsy Heritage," but didn't think PRR had any 89ft flats. Also the TTAX reporting marks are for spine cars now, which is the same time frame as the red TTX logo.

Perhaps @Cory Rothlisberger can chime in on the body-style and paint scheme logic, but I seem to recall the "Moving Forward" logo was also known as "Pennsy Heritage" at its introduction.

It refers to the TTX Logo.

A few years ago, TTX changed the logo on their cars to a "Tuscan Red" one, and it's often referred to as the Pennsy Heritage logo.

I agree about the logo designation.  The TTAX reporting marks were used on 89' flats in the pre-spine car era, e.g.:

As far as I can tell, this is a fantasy scheme (not that there's anything wrong with that).

The TTAX reporting marks were first used in the late 60's on flat cars that could be setup for hauling trailers or containers (had built in container pedestals).

The MTL car is a very good representation of those TTX class PSH10A cars.  I do believe the brown should be more red like more recent TTX offerings.

Jason:  I agree that MT's brown doesn't look right.  In my case, modeling 1974, it can be passed off as faded, but for a new car it should be redder.

Wasn't the original color the same as Penny's freight car red?

If you're up for some paint and decal work, try AccuFlex Light Tuscan Oxide for fresh TTX cars...
