If there's ever a leak, it just runs off the edge of the layout.

I'm kinda late to the party, but I've just gone through your thread and all I can say is WOW! Seriously good stuff here. One question: Was the decision to put sheet cork on top of the foam for sound deadening purposes or did you have something else in mind?

I used to lay track right on foam and shape the foam to form the roadbed profile. Then one day I glued down cork and was able to sand it perfectly smooth so I've been rolling with it ever since. Also I used ACC to glue down the track, ACC and foam don't get along well. (I could have used a different glue)  I guess in the end the cork was not necessarily needed.

I like em separate so they don't get confusing. Plus you never know when I will pick this layout up where I left off  ;)  (goes off to work on another layout)
