A little more GP60 news

Talked to Matt at FVM today. He showed me some really nice test shots of the GP60 shells. Virtually every phase will be covered: Early, late and ER dynamic brakes, air duct length, kick boards around the blower duct. Antenna air horn and AC where appropriate. Bells and horns week be brass.

Dan can you ask if this will include the Demo phase?

I would LOVE it if he did the demo phase.

And I would be overjoyed if I am wrong, but I think it unrealistic to think he might do it.

Because there were only three locos in that phase.  That's it.  Three locos.
Painted in:
EMD Demo
Locomotive Leasing Partners
CSX. (still running on CSX)

But if you can do some kitbashing (or Shapeways!), Fox Valley will give us MUCH better starting points than we had before.
The Life Like model is of a later phase.

So a Fox early phase would be a MUCH better starting point and would only basically need:
rounded contours and an angled windshield.

But if I'm wrong and Matt does the demo phase, I just might pass out with joy.

I agree with you Ron and I don't have my hopes up. It would be nice though.

These demos not only went everywhere, but they stayed in that scheme for a long time. All three were home on the Espee for many many years before they went East.

DRGW had three units. If released, the old wallet might get thinner!

It's been a while since I spoke with Matt on the subject, but I believe he plans on offering the EMD demo scheme on one of the models down the line, after the prototypical schemes have been done.

That's what Life Like did.

But Fox's foobie would be closer to accurate than Life Like's was since the Life Like was a later phase.

I'm in for a Cotton Belt (assuming it has ditchlights...there was some confusion on that issue before) for starters.  Likely will get a BNSF YWB, too, and maybe a UP.  Depends on what is competing for those dollars at that point.

Also, if anyone just needs the mech for something or an undec, I wouldn't mind grabbing an SP shell and a straight unpatched ATSF yellow warbonnet.   Assuming undec shells are available I would trade you and undec shell or the price of same.

Since I am a closet CSX junkie if Matt does the demo units I would be in for all three. :D
