Where is the link to this announcement?...I saw it yesterday and downloaded the the file to my pad, but can't find it here...
I hemmed and hawed when the Big Boy was last released, so I missed the boat on them...this new re-release is a welcome one for me, especially if there is anything improved from the last release. Although ATSF is, by far, the main player in my layout plans, Union Pacific and Southern Pacific are supporting cast members. A Big Boy is an essential piece for my 1957 era UP drag frieght and/or helper service for a Union Pacific "City of..." Streamliner.

Will be picking up 1-2 of these. Wish they would do more with out sound. So I could install loks.

Same situation as the last run. I didnt buy, too expensive for a single locomotive and no option for no sound.

How about looking for a used 1st run loco on eBay, then un-decoder it?    At this point they should not cost an arm and a leg anymore (since there was a 2nd run).  One way to look for the 1st run loco is that it comes with a remote control for controlling sound.

Athearn N scale Big Boy announcement - Due June 2016... with and without sound.

I looked on the Athearn website and they say late November 2015. I'm not sure where the June date came from??

And of course, nothing at all about UP restoring 4014 or having moved it to Cheyenne - just the biggest railfan story of 2014.  They still list it at "Pamona".

Athearn has now changed their website using the June 2016 delivery date. They have some boxcars that are due in November 2015.
