Does anyone know where I can obtain a motor for a Dapol 45XX Tank loco, I have searched the net and cannot find anywhere that sells them.
Dapol only sells the full chassis, HELP! I bought this from Perth Hobby Centre here in Oz, NO returns will not reply to phone/email. motor was
super glued tight when someone glued on the side weight, also stated on their eBay page that it was DCC ready, NOT so, is there any other motor
that will fit ? All help happily excepted.  Jeff.

Have you tried to free up the motor?  Super glue deactivates easily with some heat, then some cleanup / scraping might help after.

Also maybe a pic of the motor in the chassis and out?

yeah, heat if it can be applied. Acetone if it can be applied.

a picture of the motor would help.

I am guessing is has a little pager motor like the b-mann 4-6-0

If you bought it recently, you probably qualify under Dapol's 1-year warranty. Dapol themselves doesn't do the warranty work, but a UK outfit called DCC Supplies does.

I don't have any experience with them because I'm past the one-year time-span.
But I haven't heard any complaints about them.

Even if it is outside of a year since purchase, perhaps you can at least purchase a spare motor from them.

And as for DCC in that thing, it is a hardwire job.
The only Dapol steam I know of that is DCC ready is their tender engines, and the 57xx Pannier tank engines.

just wondering

why are you not taking issue with seller on eBay
if what you got was not what it was claimed to be?

eBay supports both buyers AND sellers
and when sellers are less than forthright
eBay will usually side with buyer
plus if you used PayPal, their recourse is
usually timely and fair.

just sharing what my experience has been
and thinking this is a problem created by
misinformation by eBay seller.

sincerely...
