screeching sound when putting shell on athearn BB sd40-2

hello I have an older blue box sd40-2 that I have repainted, tuned up including hard wiring, before I put the shell backon the chassis runs great, little noise.
after I put the shell back on there is an loud screeching sound more so in one direction. when I took off the shell again the front wire had a small flat spot as if the flywheel was rubbing against it. so I folded the wires and put the shell on same noise. so any ideas do the wires need to be shortened? also the wire in the front I soldered it to the end of the tab would this make it bind when the shell is on?

Could it be that brass headlight holder?  It looks like it is rubbing the flywheel.

That headlight contact that is touching the flywheel, bend it down so it loops around and touches the truck contact.

You can see where the brass headlight contact was rubbing on the flywheel

ugh now a new problem, the engine runs smooth and quiet , now the lead truck doesn't take the 22" curve like it had the wheels come off the tack like the truck is not able to swivel correctly errrrr that needs to wait til tomorrow.
