MTL Z-scale body height (inside height)

Not that I would ever switch over ... but I've noticed recently that the "inside height" of the Micro-Trains Z scale PS-1 boxcars and 50' ACF boxcars appear to be closer to the prototype than their N scale counterparts, or am I not seeing it clearly due to the smaller size?

Could be.  The lower door track sits on the sill 'tab' instead of the body, which is one of the reasons the other cars are too tall.

Don't worry, the PS-1 has a molded on roof walk.

I'm still interested in 2007-2008 BNSF in Z scale, but it's been amazing the only useful products to come out in the last 2 years for that plan are Showcase 53' container frames and a re-run of AZL SD70s.  Modern releases from MTL have died off, AZL has just done oddball freight car prototypes instead of fleet cars, and Intermountain has yet to release their modern reefer.  I'm saving money, but it just seems odd.

The N scale cars have a 1/32" compression on the box on the rib side boxcars too also the sills are usually 1/32" to shallow also. I think they did this so the car would ride at the correct height but not hinder truck roatation so they shortened the cars from the bottom up, I'm looking at ways to correct this with strip added to the stirup sill and the lower sill to give the illusion of no compression.

I know about all of the anomalies of the N scale cars.  I was curious if the Z scale counterparts are accurate, because they appear to be.
