Anyone want to try this one on?  There are uglier ones than this running around out there right now.

Caught today in the old IT Storeroom Yard in Decatur, IL.

Hmmm... that explains some models I've seen. Thought it was just crappy modeling...

oooo!  I love spray can numbers.

Here's mine.  Modelled after a CSX loco.

Since the number boards are gone, it's probably in a dead line--- but hey.  It looks cool.

Clearly, prototypes are becoming more comfortable with the three foot rule.

I personally liked the spray-can number numberboards.  That's classy.  Here's another one:

There's another one with the BNSF still on the long hood and painted out in the waffle-style shown here.

It applies to rolling stock too.  I happened on this ex Ann Arbor hopper sitting at Purina in Mechanicsburg today.

Bruce:  One just like that was in Kenova, WV a few days ago.  A very neat patch job by the leasing company, then a quicky spray job by NS.

Thursday morning there was another BNSF unit south of Kenova at one of the Big Sandy coal docks.  A genuine ATSF unit, still in ATSF paint, no patches or other repaints.  ATSF 683.  I would have thought it would at least have BNSF numbers and initials by now.  Apparently it's been there a while, because Trey Holland shot it in April:
