Atlas Classic GP-30 motor replacement

So I have a GP-30, Atlas Classic made in China, with a burned out motor I'd like to replace. I called Atlas and they are out of stock for a few months at least, with no ETA. ebay has been no help, is there another place to find these? I have another Atlas/Kato GP-30 might be possible to cannibalize but I'd rather not. Part number (9) 426100.

Thanks all,

Lucas

:|   I think that if you have the MILW GP Classic and a Kato they have similar motors.   And that is only a thought-they seem to have the same part number on Atlas.  They behave differently.

Good Luck,

I forgot to mention that this is N scale, but this is the Railwire after all  :ashat:  :D

Thanks Chris, that's kind of what I suspected. I know enough about the Atlas fast/slow/scale speed motor options to be very confused :?

It seems second hand/ MB Klein GP30/35's run for $70-80, a bit much to just rip a motor.

The locomotive in question, a @tom mann original, that I was fortunate to receive as a gift. Which according to folklore had it's motor burned out while achieving photographic greatness  :tommann:

Hoping to get this bad boy running again for a project in the works.

Thanks

Lucas

Tom, thanks, I'll need it. I don't know what will be worse, finding a motor or actually replacing it  :scared:

Aaron, thanks for looking. PM sent should you find one.
