Atlas Truck Swap question

I am looking at modeling a few Soo Line GP30s that rode on trucks traded in from Alco FAs.  (Example: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=97507 )
To accomplish this I swapped the Blomberg B trucks from the GP30s I intend to paint with some AAR trucks from some U25Bs I had laying around.  The GP30s ran fine with the donated trucks whereas the U25Bs were slow as could be.  I am wondering if there is a better way to do this or a place to order the truck assemblies.  I tried ordering the AAR (U25B-ish) sideframes already and putting those on the Blomberg B assemblies from the GP30 but they did not fit well and make a horrible grinding noise if I run it.  I am wondering if I am going about this the wrong way or if someone else has ever done this before.

THanks in advance,

Not sure what the problem is but I do have a question for you.Are the two locos either ATLAS-KATO or ATLAS- China. If they are one of each then you may have your answer as the trucks may not trade out successfully.

They are all Atlas-China straight up and unfiltered (not Kato).

Thanks,

EDIT: If I'm understanding correctly, you tried the U25B trucks on the GP30 mechanism and it worked ok? You can get complete truck assemblies right from the Atlas parts department.

Would these be for a GM&O?

Just swap the sideframe itself... you don't need to use the entire truck assembly.
