2nd TT on Bmann 2-8-0?

Has anyone added a second traction tire to 280 at the number 2 driver, since it is only geared, no side rods. Couldn't find any info, seems like an easy mod. Would like to avoid any danger, especially if someone else has traveled down that road. Thanks

Since the 2-8-0's are some of my best pullers I haven't even thought about it.

No real need. It pulls close to prototype as is.

Agreed, all of mine will pull 50+ cars and one has been tested to 78 cars on level.

A really old picture of one pulling 60 cars on a torture track I had set up.

I wondered the same thing as all the others.  That is one of the best pullers there is out-of-the-box.
What is it you are trying this for?  Are you trying to get it to pull over 100 cars

It was a simple question that's all. I have one and I know what it can do, thanks. I was wondering if two tt would make a difference in tractive force (the Tim Taylor effect) or if it would cause any long term damage to the motor.

Really the 2-8-0 is a well ballanced mech and most of the weight is already on the traction tires so I can only see it helping on uneven track, across dips and possibly through turnouts. I have a couple Kato Mikados that I doubled up the TT on and it really doesn't gain but a couple cars, the main thing is reliablilty as there is always a rubber tire on solid track that way.
