Hockey pucks as legs?

Hey all,

I came across this layout  where they used a hockey puck on the bottoms of the legs for this small layout. May be a useful idea for modules or smaller layouts. I feel it would better more stable than the carriage bolts that some people use at the ends of legs. What do you guys think? What would be the drawbacks?

hey, if you can use them to lift your truck's suspension, why not?

Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Less floor scratch risk but maybe not enough floor grip to lean against the layout . I will keep them in mind for a possible solution in the future , I never would have thought to use then .

Truth!
The biggest risk would be some crazed fan (like my mother-in-law!) on withdrawal would take a whack at the things with a hockey stick!

Cool
idea.  Here in the south used hockey pucks might be hard to come by.  This would be great for ouside corner legs to prevent toe injuries related to inspired late night walking or just general clumsyness...

Great....just what I need....a flashback to my goaltending days.....I can see it now, the guys will find me on the floor during an op session trying to make a kick save or smothering the puck in the goal crease

Next thing you know I'll be mistaking flashing red signal indications for goal lights......maybe I need another hobby  :P

Kick save and a beauty eh............... :D On the bright side, if you wore your goalie glove and were spralling around the floor like it was your crease, not a single Kato or Atlas engine would have to worry about the death drop to the layout floor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bigger question is can you get back up off the floor, once you get down there?

That's the reason I'm no longer a goaltender.

It's also why I don't like to string the loconet cable under the ModuTrak layout.  ;)

It's easier if you're not wearing your gear.

Anyone other than me watch hockey and also use the TV time to put new MT wheels, weights, or decoders in rolling stock/locos?  I think my rolling stock maintenance will suffer the next few months.
