Question About Micro-Trains Bay Window Caboose
« on: September 21, 2012, 02:36:06 PM »

Way back when these cabooses first came out, I read somewhere (Atlas forum?) that the dimensions were off. Specifically, I read that the caboose body was too tall. Is that correct, or is it a vicious rumor? I'd like to get a couple if the dimensions are accurate.

Hmm... bananas are never
too tall for me...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

That railwire link was some interesting reading.

Hmm... I had to get out
the "Hooked on Phonics"
book so Kiz could
understand it...

Speaking of the Atlas forum, there were some interesting posts there too.
This one has info from our top-  :ashat: himself.

And this is a long one (look at the last page for photos).  BTW, you  and Ms. Dee participated in this thread. Memory isn't what it used to be?

I never did understand how :tommann: thought the caboose compared favorably to the prototype.  That's why I clipped out the comparative car sides to compare, and you can see how much taller and poorly proportioned the MTL car is.

To be blunt...

If you can get the Athearn version, go for it and forget the MT model.  The Athearn is all-around better.  Only drawback to the Athearn might be (depending on your opinion) the McHenry couplers.  But they have not been a problem for me, and could certainly be somehow replaced if you had to do that.
