Southern Big John Article in Model Railroader???

A decade or more ago, Model Railroader had an article on Southern's Big John hoppers. I'd like to find it.

However, I searched on the Model Railroader site, but I could only get annual indexes back to 2005. No help there. I also did a search for "Southern Big John," but I got less than a dozen possibilities, none of which had anything to do with the Big John hoppers.

Can anyone tell me which issue the article was in?

Hmm... while Kiz sits on
the edge of his seat waiting
for a reply, I'm getting me
a cold one...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
"It works! It works!"

"Southern's Big John covered hopper," May 1984, page 82.
"Build Southern's Big John," December 1987, page 129.

Thanks a million!

I didn't realize it was so long ago. I must have found the article for the first time some time around the turn of the century.

Hmm... "turn of the
century" makes me feel
old...
