Add a bay window to that depot and I'd say spot on!

Oh, and BTW, it's Joe.....  ;)

Here is Coos Jct...Its not much really, two sidings and a (overgrown) wye...The wye was built to turn the MEC mallets, along with the one in Bartlett....the B&M and Mec crossed here at one time, hence the "JCT", but each rr abandoned a section of their own lines, which were basically parallel and combined what was left to form the current line..the B&M from Whitefield was abandoned, and the Mec to North Stratford was abandoned...a section of which was chartered as the Coos Vally RR, btw... ;)

Anywho, here they are, the N.Stratford boxes are rolling paper warehouses for James river. Both sidings were full of them on my first visit,(these pics show my 2nd)...and they were loaded, and a lot of rain came, and they did a number on that siding...these were taken during the end of the Guilford era...

taken during the first month of NHVT.....I think they were cleaning the cars here, as they dropped the 4 they brought from Whitefield, and picked up these 4 and brought them to the mill, they were all empty...you can almost see the store where the crew would often stop for breakfast or lunch on the right....

and more recent..

Was able to start the mock up for the mill out of 5mm ply. This will ultimately serve as the core for the stryrene. I also got the backdrop up, but will grab some photos of that tomorrow.

And here is what #52 looks like today.

Looking back, those GP-9s were quite a good investment for the Boston & Maine, 57 years later they are still on their home rails. Some of them anyway...

Picked up some new power over the weekend and made a visit to Whitefield and Groveton for some layout research.
Unfortunately Athearn got the lettering wrong on this GP40X. The lettering and logo should all be in a dark blue. I'm going to end up having to use Higball Decals to get it right.

Thanks as always!

Got some work done over the summer...not much...but enough to keep me from going crazy. The backdrop was finished and painted a few weeks ago and I have moved onto getting some roads down. The roads are tinted lightweight drywall spackle, but I mixed one batch too light so it produced a far to faded asphalt color than I wanted. I will have to give those sections a wash to tone down the stark contrast.

I also picked up some more lease motive power...because I'm also a closet MILW freak.

I've finally hashed out the track plan on the "south" end of the layout room, deciding on modeling the junction at Whitefield with the ball signal.
