Hi everyone:
This week saw work on the bridges for the Kootenay River crossing scene on the C&W. I just need to add rivet decals to the 1/2 deck girders and to paint them. Material for the distinctive piers is on order so until it shows up I will work on backdrops here and in the Slocan and Troup Jn areas.

The prototype Kootenay River crossing # 4 consists of:
- 3x 1/2 deck girder bridges
- 1 island
- 2x 1/2 deck girder bridges
- second smaller island
- 2x 1/2 deck girder bridges
- 1x 157 through truss bridge
- 1x deck girder bridge (on a curve)

The model will compress this to:
- 2x 65' 1/2 deck girder bridges
- island
- 2x 65' 1/2 deck girder bridges
- 1x 150' through truss bridge
- 1x40' deck girder bridge

The Through truss is a brass BLMA model (close enough for me) while the deck girders use modified Micro-engineering girder side frames with interior bracing added.
I will post progress as it is made.
I spent time the week before finishing painting all the track. Boy, this is one MRR job I am not fond of due to the risk of messing up track that has been functioning well for years. The results are worth it though. The last area of track to be painted was from Kootenay Bridge, through Nelson yard to Troup Junction and had over 60 switches.
Happy Holidays everyone
