Code 55 ties

Anyone have any tried and true "looks close enough" or better suggestions for ties? I would like to match Atlas code 55 track. Although I will be laying alot of track that will never see a train, some spots in the city and yard area will be just ties

Evergreen strip styrene, .040" x .060", scraped with sandpaper along the long axis?

1/32" x 3/64" basswood strips stained in the "Big Jug O' Stain."
They match the PC board ties from Fasttracks and, though are a sliver shorter than the Atlas, work great as replacement ties:

You can compare them to the Atlas C55 flex which is at the top left.

The best deal is if you get your daughter to do it for you & call it "family bonding" ;)

I use the Fast Tracks N scale ties. On the old layout I had a section (based off of Bill's Kingsbury Branch) that had a lot of abandoned trackage that I had just ties on. I glued them down and then stained them in place.
