Mine is on the way, I just got notice of it. Saturday.

I'll try to get you some when it arrives.  Should be here By Wed.

I was surprised to see it the mailbox today!

Here are some pics:

The detail is superb!  The mechanism is as good as KATO or Atlas, if not better. Although this is the first FVM loco that I've owned, one of our members has three of the IAIS units and this is just as nice.  He says that they are the best locos that he owns.

The only thing that I can find fault with is the trucks are molded in silver and are just different enough from the fuel tank that it is noticeable.  But not a big deal.  If you were to give it a good coat of weathering, you'd never notice it.

Allen,

Great pics, Thanks! As a side note, who makes the ballast in the picture?

Thanks,
Erik

Thanks Erik,
The ballast is Woodland Scenics Fine Buff.  After it was dry, I brushed on several coats of the "Grime wash" that Gary Hinshaw described in his Fading technique.  I mixed it according to his formula and then added a little more Raw Umber to darken it a bit more.
The ballast does look a little on the pink side due to the lighting and picture.  In person it looks better, more of a "Dirty" buff.

Thanks for the great pics.  I was gonna ask about the trucks.  I have 5 FVM and I think they run and pull just as well as a KATO.  Love that ballast.  It reminds me of the ATSF out of richmond, ca.  Thanks again.

As much as I like that V&O scheme, I probably won't grab one,  but I did get a set of the cars on order.
