My father has a NEW in the original packaging Varney Aerotrain. Run 1 time and then repacked and put away.

Not going to put this on E-Bay, but anyone have an idea of the Value? :o

I used to have the original Varney , in the Varney boxes that I purchased from Trainland in the early 70's IIRC . It was gray unpainted plastic and unpowered with just a few cars , all bought as individual items . I later got additional cars from Bowser . Their only worth would be to a collector . One good Aerotrain per layout is just enough , and the Con-Cor is the one to get . I never saw 2 Aerotrains together in one place , so 2 Aerotrains on one layout is one too many . In 1997 I only got a couple of bucks per car , just like every other car I had . That was the going buy value at The Hobby Gallery in Wolcott , Conn where I sold all my HO , and took the N plunge .

This is a web grab of the original Varney Aerotrain and its original box . This may be of collector interest .
