Cut down MCZ containers, eh?  Not bad.  Certainly better than the MTL ones, but that bottom sill is pretty hefty for a 40' container...  ;)

Since the MCZ container is a high cube, maybe there's room to trim that sill and make a standard height 40' container?  I need to dig up some dimensions...

Where are you getting decals?  HoboTim is out... and I've gone far enough with the ImageWorks ones.  What I really need are Hyundai on the 40', and JB Hunt for my domestic Z train.

They are pretty close in my eye.  :P

Decals are from Robert. The best in Z scale. He is all Z and the master of paper with ink printed on it that is destin' for water.

8' 6" standard
9' 6" high cube

8' width

"Actual ft""Actual in""Z in inch""MCZ""MTL"
8'6"1020.463
9'6"1140.5180.5180.531
8'960.4360.4630.475
53'6362.8902.891
40'4802.1812.209

Tables are a whole lot of clicking on here...  anyway, I put the MTL container height in the 9'6" row, though I'm assuming it's an old design and should probably be in the 8'6" row...  Anyone know what the prototype is supposed to be?

Oh, and the MCZ could easily be knocked down to a standard height container.  Guess I have another project, thanks for the idea Eddie!

Anyone need some decalled MTL containers?  K line's in red, Cast in blue, couple Hapag Lloyd's in white and orange, Evergreen in green, Maersk in white...  Money or trade for MCZ containers two for one???

No problem.

Just don't yell at me when your hands are blistering and your eye's have gone bad making 90 of them to fill your train.  ;)

Man, you ain't kidding.  I cut one down to 40' this weekend and was surprised how thick the plastic sidewalls are.  I think I could stand on these things without buckling.

Jurg- Did you get my PM?

Haha, yeah the first one is a pain. I do about 5 at a time each day. I still have to make another 20 or so.  ;)
