I use a color exactly like Lee's. Next time I may use a darker green/black.

Hi guys my layout is going to be in a 20x20 building the general lighting will be double fluorescent lighting fixtures  with daylight bulbs three sets of two  the layout will be two level upper level will be 54'' and bottom will be 35''layout will be a u shape two 16' tables4 ft wide with three foot walk way down the center will 4 4ft single fluorescent on each side of each table be enough light  these would also be daylight bulbs

On my previous 3 layouts I used a pleasing forest green as a fascia color.  This time around, though, I felt I really wanted to show off the colors on the layout more.  I went with flat black on 1/8" Masonite:







I really like how the black sets off the layout top.  I'll be using black from now on.  However, using a flat color is probably not the best choice as I've found it scuffs very easily.  I'll be using a satin or eggshell finish next time.

This is why I don't paint my facia. I apply self-adhesive vinyl shelf liner material (Contact or equivalent). It's much more durable, and hides things like screw heads, joints and other cosmetic flaws.

as much fascia as I have, paint is cheaper
