Brunswick, MD photo opportunities

I was just looking at maps.live and noticed the large train yard in Brunswick, MD. I wanted to know if there are any great locations for photo opportunities of the yard.  I noticed there is a parking area near the train station but I was thinking if there is an area in the nearby park area that you can go to get photos of the yard or better yet is there any chance they wouldn't mind rail fans there?

The park 'n' ride lot is a great location.  It's not real easy to get into the yard proper, but the C&O Canal parallels the tracks for quite a way.  You can often catch glimpses from between the trees.

There's a nice panorama of the yard from the hill on the other side, near the town; really cool.

How long will it be before they show us how to add DCC to a tree?

Quite a change from 30 years ago when I visited there.  Took my wife once and they let us climb all over the SD-7(8) used in the yard and showed us what they did.  Of course, that was the old B&O employees and before skyhigh insurence, shyster lawyers and 9-11.

Not quite that old (although I do remember steam).  Gonna say something else but figured It wouldn't pass muster here.

Paranoia strikes deep ...

They were quite friendly in 1990 - the last time I got a cab ride there (with my oldest son).

But now everyone's a "terrorist". ::)

Thanks for the great info and I know what not to do (go to the yard at all 'cause I'm not welcome).  Dave
