Milled out of styrene. Unfortunately not the cheapest way to do it but since the economy is going downhill we might have to start buying homemade products and not inexpensive oversea outsourced kits.

It is a nice choice in terms of buildings (I have really taken to late-50s-60s-70s architecture for a layout) but $70 is way too much for that. I am all for kits, over pre-builds, but a kit one of the bennies is a lower price.

This looks no better than an old Life-Like kit - note the sticker placement on the sign, and what are those windows made of? There probably should be some vents and stuff on the roof too (at least at this price you'd think).

$69.95 for the Taco Bell
seems reasonable given the amount of material in HO scale.  I realize that the cuts are similar but we  aren't in N scale to save money anyway...

I would imagine that part of the price is a licensing fee, and if it's not, get the kit while you can before the lawyers start rustling the bushes...

Well, my first thought is "too rich" but then again, I paid almost that much for a stupid Pizza Hut on eBay.  Still, I think the Taco Bell should be pretty easy to scratchbuild...the Denny's might be a little tougher.  Both look pretty cool.  (and the CVS and Hotel in HO)

I am curious about the licensing of all those brands.  Clock may be ticking.

And there's a chain called Dave's Coffee Shop? One that charges just as much as Taco Bell (owned by Pepsi, right?) to license their well known brand name, hence the additional licensing fee cost in this kit?

Some of those buildings look really nice, particularly in HO Scale (looks like his milling method loses some fidelity as the stuff gets small).  But, wowzers, the price tags.  Considering how prevalent Modern modeling is in N-Scale the selection of matching buildings and vehicles is indeed extraordinarily poor, and the stuff this guy/company makes would be VERY welcome if only it wasn't so expensive.

All that said, given how poor our selection is, I would consider buying some of the stuff.  The Motel and CVS pharmacy that are available in HO I'd like to see in N.  Yeah, the price is high, but the time it'd take me to scratchbuild wouldn't be worth it.  I don't see a lot of point in scratchbuilding franchised structures like most of what he has available.  Since they all look rougly the same, if not completely identical, my CVS pharmacy I'd put 50+ hours into making wouldn't look appreciably different than his.  It'd  be like scratchbuilding something to look like a Walther's Cornerstone building -- what would be the point?

OK, but for $70 the pieces should "fall together" not be a bunch of pre-milled parts! 

Actually, $70 for a pre-built structure in the same vein as the Atlas pre-builts I would be willing to consider.
