Anyone else out there want to see Athearn (or anyone for that matter) do the PS 5344 boxcar and the PC&F series of cars that they have available in HO, in N?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Yes!  I wrote to them once or twice about the PCF cars and the reply was "no plans to do them in N".

I get the feeling the Athearn plan for N-scale is to do a small # of high $$$ products.

Which is too bad, given that they are sitting on so much tooling right now.

No plans to offer Weathered cars either. They could have hired Tom M to do them for us. No wait thats another posting. Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah.

Nate, maybe not - they apparently showed weathered N scale cars at Detroit and were asking if people thought they should offer them!

Not up to Mann's standards though!

When Athearn entered N scale I spoke to an Athearn Rep at a show and asked what they planned to do. "In time everything we offer in HO will be available in N" was his response. I wonder if that business plan is still intact?

I try to
remind Athearn that those of us who need this car need 30-50 of these cars.  Fixtures of the SP lumber service from the 1980s to today...
