The last three from the B&O Museum 52 years ago:

No. 217, a Davis Camel Ten-Wheeler. The coach to its right was the only item completely destroyed when the roundhouse roof collapsed.

This 10 ft. long 4 wheel trolley motor switched the Fell's Point area of Batlimore for the B&O. It was replaced by a truck tractor with a coupler.

An overall view showing three 19th century locomotives. Note the polished wood Atlas-style turntable.

Next week, the Apalachicola Northern 25 years ago.

Nice shots.  I'll have to make a point to get to that museum the next time I'm in the area.

Here's a few more goodies I got at Altoona this weekend...

Something Old...

Something New

Something Borrowed

and of course something blue...

Here's a few more...

Some goon decided it would be fun to shoot paint balls at the excursion train, so the Altoona VFD came out with a pumper and some mops to clean the train for its second run.

Makes you wonder why anyone would model the Santa Fe.  There's poetry in motion here in the east.

More than 25 years later, old Conrail SD-40-2's still rule the Allegheny front.  The paint may be different, but the heart and soul are still the same.

Just as in Pennsy days, Alto Tower stands sentinal at the foot of the grade toward Horseshoe Curve and the tunnels of Gallitzin just beyond.

Here the E units pass Alto as they run around their consist to prepare for the next run of the excursion train.

While some grumble that the classic 5-pinstripe paint scheme wasn't elected for these beauties, they're still quite pleasing to the eye.

More from the curve next time.

Great shots Lee.  Speaking of Altoona.  Got home last evening and TEVO has saved Ghost Hunters (which I have never ever watched).  Show was in Altoona and they were trying to find ghosts at the museum.  Show sucked but the shots from the museum weren't too bad.

Here are somemore shots from  a Southern fantrip behind 2-8-2, 4501 during 1971.  Rode the train one day and shot it the next.  Check the various equipment/junk on the tender in the first shot:

That's Mark and yes he was with me.  Mark was a tower operator for PRR/PC/Conrail back in those days.  Don't know if he was telling the engine crew to make smoke and noise or his kung fu moves.
