If you're anywhere between Harrisburg, PA and Elkins, WV, you might want to hang around by the interstate with your camera and be on the lookout for this...

Photo by eltortuga and posted from DropShots, by way of the WMRHS.

WM coach #835 is being sent to Belington, WV where it will be refurbished for use on the tourist train that will operate from the Elkins Station in the near future.

It's being sent by truck since it would not pass inspection to travel by rail, plus the cost would have been prohibitive.

Let me know if you catch a glimpse of it for me!

Strasburg.  The WVC has either purchased the car or arranged a swap of some kind.  I believe they're supposed to hit the road around 7 a.m.  There's a second truck carrying the trucks and other equipment.

Chris, can you see what you can find out about those cars?  They do look awfully similar...  Where are those located?

Actually the windows on the car lee posted look much taller than those two. Notice how thin the letterboard at the top of the car is on lee's photo compared to those two.

Yeah I guess they aren't a perfect match.

Lee,
They are sitting a few 100 feet from that turntable in the weeds at Brier Hill. They have been there since I was a little kid peeking out the back window of the car. Must belong to Ohio Central now, the one on the right is #1134 if that helps.

Here is a map of the area. Brier Hill is between Niles and Youngstown, right under Girard:

My place is where it says DeForest Jct.

Too expensive to ship a rail car by rail. That might make a nice ad for trucking companies. Had a full sized ex-NYS&W streamlined car go through my hometown on the state highway last year. Headed for the Ulster and Delaware Rail Ride, which is without rail connection. Mom watched it go by her front porch. There's an S-curve at the traffic light that kind of stymied the for a while.
